What’s the booking process?

1.	Choose your campervan and book through our portal.
2.	Enter your credit card details. No money will be taken at this point.
3.	We will allocate your vehicle to you and deduct the 25% deposit required.
4.	You will receive your confirmation and Rental Agreement with T&Cs.
5.	Read and electronically sign your Rental Agreement.
6.	Watch the Tutorial Videos on how to use the campervan. It's in the Rental Agreement / Confirmation.
7.	Within 14 days of your trip we will deduct the remaining amount and send you a receipt.
8.	On pickup day we will validate your drivers licence, take Security Bond, conduct a handover of the vans operations and agree on the condition inspection report.

Note: If your duration is 56 days or more you can pay month by month. 25% of the first month is due to secure the booking, and subsequent months are due 10 days before the next 28 day month commences

Question 2

How many people fit?

Vanmania campervans seat 3 people including one child seat option.  The double bed can fit a small child, BUT we have state of the art SWAG and sleeping bags that we will throw in free of charge to sleep a 3rd person more comfortably if desired. A SWAG under the awning or stars can be an adventure in itself.

What about kids?

Our campervans are fitted with legal child restraint anchor points so your little one can safely explore with you. We also offer a baby seat or booster seat free of charge for you.

Are there one way rentals?

We sure do. We understand it may be inconvenient to drop off at the same pick up location, and we understand that your plans may change. Unfortunately we aren’t big enough yet to have multiple locations, but still want to give you
convenience and flexibility for your adventure. We may permit you to return the campervan to a different location, including interstate, subject to the following conditions:

(a) dependent on booking availability;
(b) for provisional approval, a quotation will be supplied on request and will include our costs of retrieval, including any applicable air fares, ground transport and ferry costs, the daily rate for the number of days the vehicle is in transit back to the Rental Station if it is not already covered by the booking, plus incidental expenses for our staff member carrying out the return.
(c) If provisional approval is granted the extra charges associated with the one way rental must be paid in full as a pre-condition for our final approval.

Cancellation policy

We are aware that plans change, but cancellations can leave us at a financial loss. So here’s our fair trade off together. Cancellations:

More than 14 days notice - 100% refund less fees
Between 14 days and 72 hours notice - 50%* refund less fees
Less than 72 hours notice - 0%* refund
No Show - 0% refund

*But here’s a good vibration from us to you - if we can genuinely fill the reservation and not be at a financial loss, we will refund you.

Question 6

Kilometres per day limitations

In Tasmania, no, fill your boots with unlimited kilometres!

If you are approved to travel outside of Tasmania then yes, a 300km per day limit is
applied, but it is averaged over the entire trip duration and only charged at 30c per kilometre. This is due to the additional maintenance costs on the vast expanse of Australian outback with lots of kms on the odometers.

What about pets?

Yes fury friends are allowed, but please don’t make this a paw decision by us. It’s a risk we take to give you the most.

There is an additional fee of $300 and also please note that any damages or cleaning required that exceeds the fee will be taken from the security bond.

Question 8

Insurance Excess Reductions

Friends, let us be transparent. We don't have control over the Excess amount payable. Fleet Insurance companies dictate this to us. The excess payable is $5,000 for drivers aged 25-75, and $6,000 for drivers aged 21-24. To make this palatable we offer the following excess reduction waiver options:

Drivers aged 25-75
Reduce excess to $2,500	- pay $10 per day
Reduce excess to $500	- pay $25 per day
Reduce excess to $0		- pay $50 per day

Drivers aged 21-24
Reduce excess to $3,000	- pay $15 per day
Reduce excess to $600	- pay $30 per day
Reduce excess to $0		- pay $60 per day

And of course you can pay nothing but will be liable for the full excess amount.

Insurance Excess is completely different to Security Bond and please be aware of this if you are renting from other companies. Excess is the agreed amount payable in the event of an insurance claim. Bond is an amount held for damages, late fees etc where an insurance claim is not submitted but renter is liable.

Question 9

What is the Security Bond?

$3,000. Payable before handover of vehicle keys and returned to you once the vehicle has been returned with no additional charges payable.

This is a temporary hold of your money to cover things like damages, late fees, fuel in not returned full etc. We accept cash, bank transfer (but must be received in our account before pickup time) or Credit Card Pre-authorisation. Security Bond completely different to Insurance Excess and please be aware of this if you are renting from other companies. Excess is the agreed amount payable in the event of an insurance claim and so should not be lumped into a single payment with your bond, which can be taken without a claim.

Question 10

Are there age restrictions?

Yes, you must be between 21 and 75 years of age. If you are 21-24 there is a slight increase in your Insurance Excess payable amount. Sorry friends, we don't get a choice in this, it is dictated by insurance.

Licence requirements

You must have a full drivers licence or international driving permit, that is current and does not expire during your rental duration. It will be validated on pick up so please bring it with you or we can't hand you the keys.

Is there storage?

We have purposely designed our vans for function, including ample storage. We have more storage than any other rental fleets on the market.

In addition we will happily hold onto your suitcases for you after you've packed your belongings into the van. Service with a smile!

Question 13

Pick up / drop off information

Accepted Answer

The handover of your campervan will take place 500m from the Hobart Airport doors. We will pick you up from the public pick up area of the airport and drive you to the location.

Before arriving you will have paid in full and electronically signed your agreement. During handover we will receive your security bond, agree on the inspection report and take as long as you need to talk through the operations of our campervans.

You will return the campervan to the same location, allowing you to walk straight into the airport.  We will release the security bond within 24 hrs of handback, following an in-depth inspection across the whole campervan.

How do I use everything?

We will send you links to our 'how to operate' tutorial videos, which will have you well prepared for your journey. During handover we will also take as long as you need to go over any finer details in person, and you will be given a direct number to our staff to call at any time if you need clarification on anything. Customer service doesn't get any better :)

Extending the rental period

We really hope you enjoy your experience so much that you want to extend your stay, and will accommodate this wherever possible.

Please understand that the unique nature of each campervan means that your extension will be dependant on availability.

Breakdowns

It’s unlikely but can occur, and if it does first call the 24/7 roadside assistance number provided in your campervan and then call the provided VanMania work number. Rest assured we will do anything possible to reduce the impact to your stay.
