Frequently Asked Questions

  • What’s the booking process
    1. Choose your campervan and book through our portal. 2. Enter your credit card details. No money will be taken at this point. 3. We will allocate your vehicle to you and deduct the 25% deposit required. 4. You will receive your confirmation and Rental Agreement with T&Cs. 5. Read and electronically sign your Rental Agreement. 6. 15 days before your trip we will email and inform you that the following day we will deduct the remaining balance, as well as provide you a link to update your details if needed such as credit card, additional drivers etc. 7. 14 days before your trip we will deduct the remaining amount and send you a receipt. 8. On pickup day we will validate your drivers licence, take Security Bond, conduct a handover of the vans operations and agree on the condition inspection report. Note: If your duration is 56 days or more you can pay month by month. 25% of the first month is due to secure the booking, and subsequent months are due 10 days before the next 28 day month commences Note: For cancellations information see Cancellation Policy section in FAQs.
  • How many people fit
    Vanmania campervans seat 3 people including one child seat option. Currently we only sleep 2 people comfortably, BUT we have state of the art SWAG and sleeping bags that we will throw in free of charge to sleep a 3rd person. A SWAG under the awning or stars can be an adventure in itself.
  • What about kids
    Our campervans are fitted with legal child restraint anchor points so your little one can safely explore with you. We also offer child seats free of charge for you.
  • One way rentals
    We sure do. We understand it may be inconvenient to drop off at the same pick up location, and we understand that your plans may change. Unfortunately we aren’t big enough yet to have multiple locations, but still want to give you convenience and flexibility for your adventure. We may permit you to return the campervan to a different location, including interstate, subject to the following conditions: (a) dependent on booking availability; (b) for provisional approval, a quotation will be supplied on request and will include our costs of retrieval, including any applicable air fares, ground transport and ferry costs, the daily rate for the number of days the vehicle is in transit back to the Rental Station if it is not already covered by the booking, plus incidental expenses for our staff member carrying out the return. (c) If provisional approval is granted the extra charges associated with the one way rental must be paid in full as a pre-condition for our final approval.
  • Cancellation Policy
    We are aware that plans change, but cancellations can leave us at a financial loss. So here’s our fair trade off together. Cancellations: More than 14 days notice - 100% refund less fees Between 14 days and 72 hours notice - 50%* refund less fees Less than 72 hours notice - 0%* refund No Show - 0% refund *But here’s a good vibration from us to you - if we can genuinely fill the reservation and not be at a financial loss, we will refund you.
  • Kilometres per day limitations
    In Tasmania, no, fill your boots! If you are approved to travel outside of Tasmania then yes, a 300km per day limit is applied, but it is averaged over the entire trip duration and only charged at 30c per kilometre. This is due to the additional maintenance costs on the vast expanse of Australian outback with lots of kms on the odometers.
  • What about pets
    Yes fury friends are allowed, but please don’t make this a paw decision by us. It’s a risk we take to give you the most. There is an additional fee and also please note that any damages or cleaning required that exceeds the fee will be taken from the security bond.
